December's roster is out. Just as it came with much anticipation, it has also brought a nearing end to 2009. A year to remember, a year where I have experienced much, learned much and been loved by much. This isnt an easy year like how my past 22years took place. This year is testing. A test of decision-making, a test of friendship and a test of learning how your next step can bring you forward. I'm glad December is here. I'm glad that God has walked me through this year. I'm glad as I know my 2010 is secured in the loving hands of His.

Let confetti fall, let all be greatly touched by the love of His.

WALA! I AM STILL AMAZED. i've heard abt Hillsong Sydney, London cause Pastor was here to preach a few times i guess..? Or probably i did remember him telling us that stadium somewhere filled with thousands of English man. But I have never thought of visiting this church, all i know was i prayed a prayer for God's protection and plan while i'm out alone.. not knowing how to get to Prime Mart, not sure of even i should be going there since I have another Manchester flt.

By "..time and chance.." I am Here. I'm speechless. I don't know but I was just so damn happy throughout the service. I am still excited about it now!

Habitually, before my first visit to a country, my mind will doodle out a drawing, showing me how that country will look like. This drawing picture the overview of the nation’s building, its background and the color of the skies. Istanbul, Turkey, had my mind stuck. I have not the slightest idea on how this place will look like. With that, I didn’t expect much out of Istanbul and even thought of staying in because of the rushing rest hours.

The first few kilometers out from the airport changed my mind. The lake, I couldn’t not love a place with that ocean blue water. A cruise on the lake brings in the words of scenic, rich and lively. A place which is visually charming.

“The biggest mosque in the world, it glows. Like you will see a short fat king walking out from the great doors of this palace- looking-like place. Its grey façade gleaming mystically- The night of Abu Dhabi is like stretches of ECP in the night. The very fact that it is a dull looking city in the day translates its beauty at night. With all buildings here painted pale white, its façade shines into define lines in the night. “

Never found a chance to place the above note I penned down months ago and felt this is a good place to slot it in. The Blue Mosque came as the famous one, but the feeling this Abu Dhabi mosque gave, etch till now.

Arhhs. I am not completing the Istanbul entry. There is a sentiment about some things in life, about folks who came and left.

Alright, ready to blog again. An entry in English as Mel expressly requested for. This is a short flight to Shanghai. Met up with a friend, Julian, who have permanently moved to China. I was surprised at his decision initially but later realized he had a reason to be there, as his mom is there. Who doesn’t want to stay closer to their families ya.

It was an afternoon flight, therefore when I reached the hotel and finished my usual stuff of (removing make-up & take a good shower), it was already 345pm. Didn’t had time to visit the famous Qi Pu Lu and needless to say, didnt buy much things. Got back and met up with Julian for dinner. This is the exciting part.

“Let’s go to this place that my mom’s friend recommended, we just have to take right outside the hotel”
“Sure, I’m hungry. What’s the place name?”
“Yu Shuen”

So we happily chit-chat and took our walk. A walk that took us approximately 20mins and with a few attempts of locals trying to give us their impression of where Yu Shuen is. We couldn’t find the place and I made the decision to walk back to the hotel where most eateries are. (In case he doesn’t know that I get mad when my stomach starves)

“Aye, I think this is Yu Shuen”
I’m like; he better hopes it is not because it is just on the RIGHT side of the hotel entrance.
And IT IS.

*!#$3&*!! Luckily, those plates of Shanghai food on our table was delectable… If not… I might physically punch somebody for the first time. Haha. All in, it was an enjoyable trip so much so that both of us had plan on what to do next for my next visit. I’ll close this entry with pictures =)

丹麦，Copenhagen。一段熏依草紫褐色舒服的合上一段温绿色，就这样丛叠成一片倒影，填满了那片寥阔的草原直到日落的地平线。沿途中也有成群的小山羊。今天在LegoLand开心的玩了一下午。雪糕，暴米花，炸鸡暑条带我回到小时候。欢笑呐喊真舒服！我决定了，我要开始收集午餐盒，也就是所谓的lunchbox.

喜欢搭火车的感觉，喜欢用红茶加牛奶的甜茶，喜欢淡淡的红豆松饼。

在罗马的第二天，旅途终点虽是陂萨斜塔，但我却被那四个钟头的火车车程和过渡热情的阳光打闷。撇开这不提，我在回家的路上找却到了一份吸引。一份能使我静静的，温温的，在车厢窗旁写下这封没有地址的信。一整片因阳光而笑的夏日葵，一片因热情而有了生命的地中海，一颗因大自然而有了活力的太阳。浪漫玻璃屋打遭成的咖啡座就坐在小悬崖上。

Got called up for a 3days Dubai. I just had this feeling it will be a 3days trip to somewhere. But when the electronic operator spoke the word "Dubai". I almost faint.
Fainting spells came because 1) I JUST came back from a 8days Dubai 2) I really dun like Cairo, pls dun send me there again 3) I had enough of Tikkas, Briyani, Fast Food. (I practically finished up every bit of my mum's cooking whenever I'm back and I know inside Aunty Geok Khim, she is always amazed at how much her daughter CAN eat. I know she cooks extra portions too!) 4) Kelly just asked for me to be call up for Dubai and i said Amen. lol. So going to meet you despite of that short time i have. SO happy that it's not a7/8/9 days Dubai. phew.

anyway, talk about I dun like Cairo, I really dun know why. I just don't like. But still, I will post some pictures of that triangle thing.

10 July 09, 2134 Dubai's time, my handphone rang, for quite awhile. Now, the background is, whenever Felicia hears an overseas ringtone, she will hang up and drop me a msg. This time it is different and it so happen to be THE day that our roster is out. so the only thought that came to my mind was: she is doing an exact same flight with me. Picked up the call and the 2 of us cant stop screaming. God does miracles. Daddy God, thank you for hearing and answering our prayers. Let the fun begin!

Wow, after a long while. I havent had the chance to sit down and spend a free day on the internet. Am now in New Zealand, the weather is so cold and I dun have a pair of shoes that keeps my feet warm! Neh neh. And my colleagues asked me to join them for ski-ing. how can.
So I took some time planning what I should do for tomorrow. Hot-air Ballooning - pick up is at 5am about $200, Whale Watching - pick up at around that time, $250. The 2nd option definitely entices me, BUT, i took a 4hrs nap and now it's too late to book!

Great! Firstly, i prayed for this trip to be a resting trip for me. Secondly, both are ex, further more, it exclude meals. Ahahah.

I havent really rested since last Monday, but thought it was all worth while as I had a great company in Ams, well-spent weekends with mel@dimsum (mango puree prawn fritters, heavenly cheng teng), Short time@hockseng, church n mama's day(ON)sun. Oh and i actually had my fair share of fun deciding for sis whether she shld get the light beige pink long chomp. and not to forget, a pre-packed soup ingredients into kelly's mailbox. (Rmb to retrieve it when you see this).

Unexpectedly, on this trip, my favourite vegetable turn out into some blended-spinach (it’s like their favourite here), yucks. That pumpkin soup which I always skip is simply souperd and wholesome. That waffle, is too good to miss. They use this Cream (the FAT that rises to the top of WHOLE milk), strawberries, chocolate fudge. SO FAT-LOADED.SOGOOD.

Taipei is a very lively nation. That of course is displayed in the high spirited politicians who usually exchange blows during their meetings. Haha. Anyway, you eat well and stay good here. Language doesn’t cast a problem because just by playing up a little on the Taiwanese accent, you can pass off as a local. Food however is a problem. There’s just too many to choose from.

I will be back to Taipei next month, and hopefully I have the time and company to explore the quieter side of Taipei. Jiufen and Beitou.

My first visit to Japan landed me here. Perhaps it’s the feeling it gives in contrast to what I have read over the internet, it is more of an historical conurbation than a metropolitan city. The Osaka palace is a place of tranquility. Get a beer and a box of huge sized Takoyaki, and you are all ready to sit under the cherry blossoms tree for a good afternoon.
Apart from that, Osaka took every part of a Japanese culture and you can see this as you make your way through the city – Vending Machines.
Shop spaces are leased for a whole purpose of building Vending machines in it. You will see a Ramen stall tend by a cook, and he refuse to take orders, because, right outside the stall stands a Vending Machine!

I’m happy with my life, like really glad. An undefined gladness for it. Haha with family, friends, salvation, free favors, what more to ask for.

In that afternoon, Kelly brought back delicious macaroons from London for me. (If not for that 6 macaroons, I would have long thought that macaroons are but a “lau-hong-biscuit” which is what Canele has revealed to me.) After a filling pasta dinner at Takashimaya, while walking off, a lady approached us and : “Hi wanna try our macaroons?” And, there’s about 6 flavors presented right before us. We tasted almost all of them? for freeeeeeeeeeee.

A few things I wished to accomplished in this New Year:
1) To be a better person.
(Lol kidding! I’m already so good.)
2) To pick up Guitar
3) To go for at least a dive trip and get my Advance License
4) To travel, to learn, to hear, to see.
5) To continue eating and not put on weight.

So... Chuwei&gf whom kept saying they dun want it (cause ride bike mafan).. and GOT THAT BIG SIZE PREZZIE as my left-right story ends!

A get-together with YY on her precious off-day. We upgraded our typical Jogging to a Brisk-Walking session. And of course, a Big Breakfast to replenish the burnt calories. We don’t want to be skinny girls, so putting on calories is important for us. LOL.

I just wanna declare that I love breakfast.

From Macdonald’s hotcakes, Kovan’s mee siam,wholemeal kaya toast, zai mee fen, everything! Its gooood. Oh just very recently, I realized White Wings pancake mix makes delicious hotcakes. Haa wonderful.

Am using xinzi’s laptop while she’s away in Aust! Glad to at least have a functioning machine at home, so I can start sending out resumes again. I have packed the old PC and its ready to leave for its next destination. My old-time fossil watch has also decided to join the clan of PC, another Bangkok watch did the same to. Not at this moment la, when I’m all broke and surviving on allowances. =/ so unfriendly of them.

: Vincent called up to tell me that his passport has expired without his knowing for 2 years, our bintan trip might be affected because of this!

Hmm. Went for my second interview today, only to realize that I have yet found a firm direction in what I really would want to do, where I want to begin and where to build a career from. It was Peter Kinpp today, was pretty excited to receive a call from them, had the idea that I must present well during the interview and score as much points as possible because: 1)events is an ideal field to be in 2)kinpp is indeed a reputable company 3) I needed a job.

The interview took about 45mins. Hr manager was very nice, she’s like the 2nd pan pac manager I met 2 years back. Both knew that I was lost, no focus, and needed to be taught. She came frank with all the demands of doing events. And it dawned on me how I suffered in the Ace:daytons days. Fun moments there were, but did I really want this in the long term? Liaising with chefs is always challenging, what’s more about liaising with a chefs from all around the world, and having a boss who is a chef. Haa I dun see anything bad about all this, but it is just challenging (on a daily basis). With a 5days + alt sat work week.. I decided that.. events doesn’t seem like ahyi’s cup of tea.

Anyway, even my quiet neighbour knows that I’m jobless. So what. I am jobless! and i can afford to. =/ ok actually i cant.. lol

Been on countless Bangkok trips, but this time round I brought something really memorable back. the annoying bed bugs attack. Wee. They are too adorable for my keeping. The housekeeping aunty came into our room to check on the situation and she did something amusing. Imagine k, she wore a circle shape specs like the on below.. stood at the door and said: “ Ooo”, then holding her specs with her index finger, she walked in, gave the bed a few pat and OOo.. again, she’s a classic. So unfortunately, when we switched to a new room, the bathtub had to be stuck and water can’t flow through. The same housekeeping aunty came in and gave a few Ooo(s) and sent in the engineer.

Over at the airport, we were late for check-in because our taxi was caught in the infamous BKKjam and it had to make stops at petrol stations because it had run out of fuel. When we finally reached the check-in counter, our bags were deemed overweight and we had to repack on the spot into our hand carry bags. Or else, its 395baht per kg, which works out to S$17x 10kg= $170. =D

Then the 2nd classic took place. YE XINZI had all her lotion and body scrubs in her hand carry bag. [ I already say cannot bring liquids onboard right]. Action: with that anger that I was already trying to curb because of mum’s constant kan-chiong-ness, the bottles of lotions got transferred into the check-in bag.

While rushing to the boarding gate..
Xinzi: I want to tell you something but you sure angry one.
Me: its ok, just say
Xinzi: I left 2 bottles of body scrub in this bag.

LOL. BUT This is the xinzi la, what to do, her hastiness, her anyhow packed bags and her random actions of “locking the room door so that the engineer cannot sneak off without getting the bathtub repaired.” Only to realize that, “eh, the engineer can just rape you la” hahaha.

Jiejie and aunty gk enjoyed your company in this trip! GK will probably bring you to her many other trips. Keke.

This is like the most happening BKK trip ever.

I had a very good day today. Afternoon was spent at home crapping with mum, tittle-tattling with mel on msn, bad tempered phone calls with xinzi. And also, a very nice little dinner with geigao- James. He always speaks wisdom la, never fail to counsel and teach me stuff. Thank you buddy.=D

Next was our first birthday celebration with Gege. Haha he has got a few march-in songs in mind already! Woo~

Woke up at 430 and left for mel’s place at 545. Gera and I waited for the clock to strike 605 before we flag down a cab. Haha stingy us. Merrily, we jump out of the cab and headed to unit 03-447. bimbo around with the jiemeis and Aunty Doris and we got down to the REAL STUFF. i had so much fun.

Mel gave us this beautiful room for some good rest. and we did! took a shower, iron my clothes, gossip abt mother-in-laws, shouting at each other, nobody could sleep, missed the complimentary high tea, ran in as fast as we could to avoid letting the brothers see our wow-no-make-makeup very jialat faces and shabbily dressed sistars, started our dressing up session at 545, really need to speed up my make-up process - super waste time.

I think it’s pretty amusing for the sgoon garden residents to directly relate foreign workers with the issue of SECURITY. Sometimes, I just can’t stand these rich people. How about let’s build the dormitory at Sengkang, anyway, we are used to them since we moved in 10years ago where everywhere has a construction site. Plus, we are HDB ppl, no rights to talk about security. anyway, the dom shouldn’t be built there for the residents are surely going to discriminate and ostracize the poor workers.

let there be a site where these workers can stay comfortably (not restricted to a self-contained lodging).

You see for some dun know what reasons, I have the privilege of not needing to throw our house’s trash. Usually mum and sis will do it. So that day, since I was washing up the dishes from my baking session, I decided to clear the rubbish bag and the food-mixer box.

As I walked and reached the rubbish chute: “wow, don’t think this big box will fit down the chute wor” “hmm, if the chute’s mouth opens bigger then it will fit!”

So... with my mighty legs, I applied abt a 10kg force onto the ‘stepping lever’

“ha-ha its wide open, just nice!” And from that day onwards, the chute had its jaw fractured.

hey, its easy actually, less than 10 steps and you are done!

1) Boil water to cook the potato pierogies= Singapore’s samosa
2) Season chunks of chicken (thigh & breast) with S&P, toss/mix/coat them in flour and sweet paprika powder mixture
3) Heat up the skillet w butter, olive oil, cook the chicken for 3mins on each side.
4) Remove chicken to plate
5) Use that same oil, add cabbage, onion, carrot, celery, bay leave, S&P.
6) When vege turn soft, add chicken back, and a can of beer.
7) Turn on high heat and simmer till liquid reduce to half
8) Serve on a pretty plate, top it with pierogies.
9) appear at bukit panjang.

and yes.. i think she's my next favourite after ian wright, she's janet hsiao if i'm not wrong. she's so hyper n lively, but you dun feel irritated.

sometimes i prefer dad to come home late, whenever he's home early, he brings food. sis will not eat and i HAVE to eat. i feel kinof bu shuang, cause, why is it that jiejie can just say: no i dun wan i'm going to sleep. no i dun wan I brushed my teeth alr. and when i say the same thing, no one bothers. i feel obligated to share the supper, because dad is always excited to bring us the tantalizing delights and I dun want to disappoint him! This is exciting. I found a café that has a MILKBAR, Milk infusion to be precise. I’ll make a trip there and blog about it.

I am graduating soon; it is cruel to know that it is in less than a month’s time. Friends are beginning to post the question of: “ok so what you planning to do?” There are only 2 things on my mind. 1 & 2) get a job and a graduation trip. See that I can’t categorize which should come first. And yes, I’m indeed puzzled. Originally, I have wanted the trip first followed by the job. Because, after all, I will be slogging my whole life working, so I should take a well-deserved trip before I sink into office politics, piles of ring files and nasty female bosses. Then comes a hitch:
1) I can’t find a suitable travelling partner
2) My ideal travelling partners are going to places I dun really fancy
3) The remaining suitable partners are not interested in the places I want to visit
4) That last bit of remaining suitable partners are actually not very suitable.

You see. arhgz. Can I jus go alone? Yes I can. But I shudder to imagine that loneliness is tagging along. Alright, I might jus do a switch on that 2 options. No point travelling out for the sake of travelling out right.. JOBS, you are dead. I am coming.

Ah huh! It was a whole afternoon of coordination and a whole night of fun.

Background:

The three of us got together back in Marriott. We were trying to reminisce how we became lunch buddies, how we met up every week for our east coast jog, how we always stayed away from office politics and yet gossip about Marriott happenings at East Coast MacDonald’s. But that’s always the fun part of being friends, you so enjoy each others’ company that you usually can’t recall how you actually met.

Oh well… glad that I have the 2 girls during the THOSE Marriott days..

So as I mentioned, our every meet-up was always at East Coast Park, jogging/strolling/failed attempts of blading/ from morning till evening. And they finally voiced out their unhappiness.

“Can we for once get dressed up and do something proper? Like high teas, shopping, clubbing”

Hahaha. So ya. Ok let’s do one of such.

Finally, it was a Saturday.

I did my ER revision on Thursday and was done with almost 70% of it, so as expected, I was very satisfied and thought that Friday will be a less demanding day for me. (I have the habit of completing tasks in advance so I can avoid the panic of eleventh-hour.) Despite that, I didn’t manage to sleep in till the usual wake-up time of 1030, 1100. I woke up at 930am that Friday. Pleading the case of: “Hey! If I wake up now and complete that 30%, I can enjoy Good Friday with jiejie and mum!”

Ok so I woke up, started revising on the last few chapters, and breakfast and I’m done!

“ ok, left with review questions, can take go take break” hee

At around 3pm, I took a nap which lasted for almost 3hrs! freak. But I promise jiejie to go out for dinner. I hurriedly took a shower and while waiting for her to get ready I did my first set of review questions. I couldn’t answer about 40% of it. great. I couldn’t enjoy my dinner as I was so occupied by how I should use that last few hours of Friday to re-study what was FORGOTTEN.

Back home at 8pm. I studied as much as I could, and (still in the mood to watch that 9pm show can!) in the end, I spent the whole night panicking about what have not got into my head.

And came Saturday!

9-10 : ER test (it was manageable la.. haha.. make me kan-chiong for nothing)

Back home and went for church.

7.10pm onwards! It was a day of fun! With yonggie, kang, xin and mel!

i tricked mel into watching a comedy-turned-horror movie. lol. Orphanage is not your typical horror film. it uses a plot, captivating yet mysterious. sometimes, you even wish that at a certain point, the character did not put herself in that situation.
